Celebrating Our Future Physicians

April 1, 2025

On March 21, 2025, graduating seniors at California Northstate University College of Medicine (CNUCOM) reached a pivotal milestone, celebrating their residency match successes. This achievement is a testament not only to their dedication but also to the unwavering support of their families and the CNUCOM faculty.

Match Results: A Legacy in the Making

As I reflect on this year’s Match results, I am filled with immense pride. Our first graduating class has achieved an extraordinary milestone of 100% placement. Furthermore, 92% of first-time matchers secured positions, with an impressive 84% matching within California. These numbers are not just statistics; they are a promise, a promise that the future of healthcare in California is in capable hands.

This success is no accident. It is the result of tireless effort from our faculty, who have worked relentlessly to provide resources, guidance, and mentorship. It is a reflection of our students’ resilience, their pursuit of excellence, and their commitment to serving others.

And now, as we approach graduation, I look forward to seeing the Class of 2025 walk across the stage, knowing that they are not just receiving diplomas, they are stepping into a profession that desperately needs their passion, intelligence, and innovation. In an era of increasing physician shortages, particularly in California, they are answering a profound call to serve. They will not only fill gaps in our healthcare system but also redefine its future, bringing fresh perspectives, compassionate care, and bold solutions to the challenges ahead.

Our Mission in Action

When CNUCOM was founded in 2015, we set forth with a clear mission, to transform healthcare through innovative education and cutting-edge practices. Our vision was, and remains, to prepare California’s future physicians for the challenges of the 21st century. That vision is becoming reality. With 84% of this year’s graduates remaining in California, we are not just meeting expectations, we are fulfilling our promise to the communities we serve. Residency training shapes where physicians ultimately practice, and our graduates will be at the forefront of delivering the highest standard of care to our state and beyond.

A Bold Future: CNU Health Medical Center & Tertiary Care

But our journey does not stop here. The future of CNUCOM is bright, and our ambitions are greater than ever. This fall, we will take a transformative step forward as we break ground on the CNU Health Medical Center and Tertiary/Quaternary Care Center, a project that will redefine how we educate, train, and serve.

This is more than a building, it is a beacon of hope, a center of innovation, and a commitment to the future of healthcare.

To our students, faculty, and supporters: We are shaping history. The work we do today will echo for generations, impacting lives and communities across California and the nation.

As President Kennedy once said, “We choose to go to the moon not because it is easy, but because it is hard.” We, too, embrace this challenge—not for ease, but for the impact it will bring. We are not just training physicians; we are shaping the future of medicine.

Let’s move forward with purpose, passion, and an unwavering commitment to excellence.
