Faculty Spotlight April 2025: Dr. Adedeji Okikiade
In this month's Faculty Spotlight, we highlight Dr. Adedeji Okikiade, a dedicated
faculty member at CNUCOM. With a passion for pathology, Dr. Okikiade shares
his journey in medicine, emphasizing the importance of understanding disease
mechanisms, patient care, and the value of mentorship. Outside of teaching, he
enjoys exploring cultural heritage, traveling, and spending time with loved ones.
He encourages students to embrace resilience, curiosity, and their passion for
medicine as they shape their careers.

In this month's Faculty Spotlight, we highlight Dr. Susan Stevens, a retired endocrinologist now teaching at CNUCOM. She shares her experiences in medicine, emphasizing the importance of patient relationships, lifelong learning, and finding joy in one's specialty. Outside of work, she enjoys outdoor activities and spending time with family, and encourages students to follow their passion in their medical journey.

Congratulations to the Intramural Seed Grant Winners!
On behalf of Dr. Frezza and the Office of Research, we are pleased to congratulate the winners of the recent intramural seed grant competition. The recipients, who were notified a few weeks ago via email, are John Cusick, Elana N. Dedkova, Yifan Li, Valerie Gerriets, Han-Rong Weng, and Anura W.G. Ratnasiri. These innovative projects span a range of research topics, from cancer to medical education, and we look forward to seeing the impactful work they will accomplish!
