LCME Accreditation Status

California Northstate University, College of Medicine (CNUCOM) is a 4-year allopathic medical program based in Elk Grove, CA, which is dedicated to the development of highly competent, forward-thinking, community- and patient-centered healthcare providers. In keeping with the College’s mission to advance the art and science of medicine, we are engaged in on-going evaluation and improvement to ensure that our program and our graduates are ready for and adaptable to the current and future practice of medicine.

CNUCOM’s journey to full Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) accreditation is a voluntary, peer-reviewed process that adheres to the accreditation standards outlined in the LCME document, Functions and Structure of a Medical School. Receiving LCME accreditation means students are eligible to take the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and graduates are eligible for residency programs accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME). CNUCOM’s LCME accreditation status is Provisional Accreditation with Probation1.
