CNU Neurology SIG

Description

The CNU Student Interest Group in Neurology (SIGN) is one of more than 125 SIGN chapters in the US and Canadian medical schools, in association with the American Academy of Neurology (AAN). Our chapter provides students with opportunities to learn about the field of neurology through seminars with guest speakers, journal club meetings, and procedural workshops (e.g. Lumbar Puncture workshop). SIGN members also have access to exclusive SIGN member scholarships, including the Medical Student Scholarship to the Annual AAN Meeting and the Medical Student Research Scholarship.

CNU SIGN is dedicated towards fostering an interest in neurology and medicine within our local Elk Grove Community. Each year, we organize events with local high schools, including Brain Day at Cosumnes Oaks High School, and Concussion Day at Pleasant Grove High School, to provide high school students with a chance to learn about current topics in neurology, as well as provide an opportunity to discuss pathways to careers in medicine, and life in medical school.

Mission

Our SIGN mission is to provide opportunities to participate in clinical, research, and service activities in neurology and further medical student’s neurologic knowledge.
