The CNUCOM Class of 2029 includes 118 students selected from 3,461 applicants. The average MCAT is 513.3, and the average GPA is 3.83. Students come from diverse backgrounds: 61% Asian, 19% White, and others representing multiple ethnicities. Eleven percent hold graduate degrees, and one student is a military/veteran scholarship recipient. Matriculants represent top institutions including Yale, UCLA, UC Berkeley, and Johns Hopkins.
The California Northstate University College of Medicine (CNUCOM) proudly welcomes its newest cohort, the Class of 2029. This year’s incoming class showcases impressive academic credentials, diverse backgrounds, and a commitment to pursuing excellence in medicine.
A total of 3,461 applications were received for the Class of 2029. Out of these, 504 candidates were interviewed, and 118 students ultimately matriculated. Among the enrolled students, 109 are from California, with 9 joining from out of state.
The academic performance of the incoming class is outstanding. The average MCAT score is 513.3, while the average BCPM (biology, chemistry, physics, math) GPA stands at 3.78. The average overall GPA is slightly higher, at 3.83. Additionally, 11 percent of students enter the program with graduate degrees, underscoring the cohort’s advanced academic preparedness. The class comprises 55 male and 63 female students, totaling 118. CNUCOM remains committed to fostering a diverse and inclusive learning environment, as reflected in the rich ethnic composition of the class. Sixty-one percent of students identify as Asian, 19 percent as White, 2 percent as African American, and 1 percent as Hispanic, Latino, or of Spanish origin. Seven percent identify as being of two or more races, while 10 percent either selected “Other” or declined to respond. No students identified as Native Hawaiian this year.
In terms of socioeconomic diversity, 11 percent of the class is recognized under the SES disadvantaged indicator, while the remaining 89 percent do not fall under that category. One student in the cohort is a recipient of a military or veteran scholarship.
