CNUCOM 2023 Match rate: 97%
The Class of 2023 had 99 students participating in the Match with a 97% match rate for first year residency positions. Our student matches covered 16 specialties covering 65 programs. Consistent with our mission, 42% are going into Primary Care, which includes 30% in IM, 9% in General Surgery, 4% in FM, 3% in Peds, and 4% in ObGyn. Consistent with our goal to increase the number of physicians in CA, 61% matched into CA residency programs. Unique to our school, EM and Neurology are required clerkships on top of the traditional 6 that includes the 4 that constitute Primary Care, Surgery, and Psychiatry. 16% matched in EM and 5% matched in Neurology. This neurology is significantly higher than the national average between 1 and 2%.
CNUCOM students have matched in several very competitive specialties including Diagnostic Radiology, Orthopedic Surgery, Ophthalmology, Otolaryngology, and Plastic Surgery.
