About

Dr. Essayyad attended the University of Nevada, Reno where he graduated with a BS in Biology, with distinction, and a minor in Comparative World Religions. He trained at The George Washington University, School of Medicine and received the Gold Humanism Honor Society award. He then moved to Sacramento in 2007 to attend his emergency medicine residency at UC Davis. He has worked as an emergency physician at Kaiser Roseville and Sacramento for the past 12 years before joining CNU. During his tenure with The Permanente Medical Group, he was involved with the clinical education of medical students, residents and mentoring new physicians.

Interest

Dr. Essayyad grew up in Anchorage, Alaska and has many interests including tactical medicine, wilderness medicine, outdoor exploration and adventure, fly-fishing, writing, as well as medical and non-medical volunteerism. He has volunteered in various developing countries and conflict zones as well as our own community. Dr. Essayyad played on the UNR Rugby team, Reno Zephyrs and for the Lebanese national team, The Phoenicians. He has recently completed his first novel and is seeking publication.
