Dr. Arenson practiced as a Consulting Gastroenterologist and Hepatologist in Sacramento from 1987 until 2019, while serving as President of Sacramento Gastroenterology Medical Group. During that time he also served for periods as Chairman of the Department of Medicine, Chief of Gastroenterology and Director of the Gastrointestinal Motility Laboratory all at Sutter Sacramento Hospitals, and Co-director of the Sacramento Midtown Endoscopy Center. At CNU College of Medicine Dr. Arenson is Co-director of the Gastroenterology Course for M2 students, serves as a College Master and teaches Clinical Skills.

Research Interests

Dr. Arenson has bench research experience working primarily on proteoglycan components of the extracellular hepatic matrix and clinical research on liver disease associated with HIV/AIDS
