CME Information There are two types of activities eligible for credit in the LearnTeachEarn CME program:
- Preparing to teach medical students: Physicians receive two AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for every hour spent teaching what was learned in preparation. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
- Preparing to teach at a live CME event: Physicians receive a maximum of 4 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ per 1 hour of instruction at a live CME activity to share what was learned in preparation. Physicians should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
CME credit for LearnTeachEarn activities is calculated in quarter hour increments per instruction hour (e.g. 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, etc.)
Please note: The Medical Board of California allows no more than one third of the required CMEs for maintaining your license to be attributed to learning-from-teaching CMEs. For more information about the Medical Board of California CME requirements and limitations click here.
CNU Policy: The CME learning activity claims will be reviewed and approved prior to awarding CME credit.
