California Northstate University, College of Medicine (CNUCOM) is a 4-year allopathic medical program based in Elk Grove, CA. CNUCOM, is dedicated to the development of highly competent, forward-thinking, community- and patient-centered healthcare providers. The mission of CNUCOM is to advance the art and science of medicine. In keeping with this mission, we are engaged in on-going evaluation and improvement to ensure that our program and our graduates to be prepared and adaptable to the ever-changing practice of medicine.

CNUCOM’s journey to full accreditation by the Liaison Committee for Medical Education (LCME) accreditation is ongoing. We diligently adhere to the peer-reviewed process and the accreditation standards as outlined in the LCME document entitled, "Functions and Structure of a Medical School." LCME accreditation allows eligible students to take the United States Medical Licensing Examination (USMLE) and graduates are eligible to apply for the - Accrediation Council for Graduate Medical Education accredited (ACGME) residency programs. CNUCOM’s LCME accreditation status is Provisional Accreditation with Probation1.

1A medical school on Probation remains LCME accredited with all attendant rights and privileges. Students are eligible to sit for licensure exams and eligible for residency programs.
