California Northstate University College of Medicine Earns Full LCME Accreditation
Elk Grove, CA – California Northstate University (CNU) has announced that its College of Medicine has received full accreditation from the Liaison Committee on Medical Education (LCME), marking a major milestone in the institution’s ongoing commitment to academic and healthcare excellence.
The accreditation journey began in 2015 with preliminary status and advanced to provisional accreditation in 2019. This latest achievement recognizes the College’s continued growth in curriculum development, clinical partnerships, and student success. With this designation, CNU joins the ranks of nationally accredited medical schools.
University leaders, including President Dr. Alvin Cheung and Dean Dr. Richard Isaacs, emphasized that the accomplishment reflects the dedication and perseverance of the entire CNU community and strengthens its mission to prepare future healthcare leaders.
Additionally, CNU’s institutional accreditation remains in good standing with the WASC Senior College and University Commission (WSCUC), reaffirmed through 2033.
Founded in 2007, CNU now offers diverse healthcare-focused academic programs across six colleges and serves around 1,500 students and employees. The university continues to prioritize student-centered, inclusive education in the biomedical and healthcare sciences.
