About

Dr. Waldman is an interventional pain management specialist, author, and medical educator. He serves as Dean of the College of Medicine and Vice President of Medical Affairs at California Northstate University. Dr. Waldman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Geosciences from the University of Missouri–Kansas City, and was one of the first 100 students to be admitted to its new medical school, the University of Missouri–Kansas City School of Medicine. He was elected a member of the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Society and earned his MD in 1977. He completed his residency in anesthesiology at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine in Rochester, Minnesota where he also served as President of the Mayo Clinic Fellows Association.

Dr. Waldman received a Master’s in Business Administration in Healthcare Administration from City University and his Juris Doctor from the University of Kansas School of Law. With over 25 years of experience in creating innovative health care education programs, clinical site development, and healthcare delivery systems, Dr. Waldman is poised to lead CNU’s College of Medicine into a new era of growth. A prolific author, Dr. Waldman has written 56 textbooks on subjects ranging from interventional pain management, educational technology, interprofessional healthcare education, headache, global health, clinical ultrasound, case based learning, and physical diagnosis. He is also the author of over 200 peer reviewed scholarly articles. Dr. Waldman has served in various academic roles including Chair of Anesthesiology and Chair of Medical Humanities and Bioethics and has served as both Vice Dean and Founding Medical Dean.
