Our Students are finding proactive ways they can support the community

In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, our students at the College of Medicine have been proactive in finding ways they can support the community while continuing their education in uncertain times. Some of the initiatives our students have started or are involved with include the following:

  • CNU PPE Drive
  • COVID-19 Tele-Education
  • APAMSA Charity Drive
  • Homeless Outreach
  • Errands for Physicians
  • Checking in on the elderly
  • Assisting SSVMS with the collection of COVID-19 test specimens

Hospitals and clinics our students have distributed to during our PPE Drive:

  • Mercy General Hospital
  • Sutter General Hospital, ED, and ICU
  • Lodi Memorial Hospitalist
  • San Juaquin General Hospital and ICU
  • Sutter Roseville Hospital
  • Kaiser South Sacramento ER
  • Mercy Folsom Hospital
  • Methodist Hospital of Sacramento
  • Homeless Outreach of Sacramento
  • SSVMS

Our students are dedicated to serving where they are capable in this time of need, while making an unfortunate situation a learning experience, not just in virology and pandemic response, but also in community leadership.
